WELL DONE TO EVERYONE FOR MAKING THE RUTTER 'CELEBRATION' CONCERT SUCH A GREAT SUCCESS

April 07, 2025

Everyone really enjoyed the Sir John Rutter 'Celebration' concert on Saturday 5 April. Both his Magnificat and his Requiem are not easy pieces to sing and all members of the choir have worked very hard over the last few months to master them. The standard of performance was high which led to a thrilling performance of thrilling music.

The 17-piece chamber orchestra was described as "fabulous" and the soprano soloist Jennifer Walker was simply superb. Steve Cowperthwaite, Director of Music, said about the choir "wonderful singing, the balance with the orchestra sounded great, and the unaccompanied bits were so well together". The choir received many compliments from both the large audience and orchestra members.

To underline the versatility of the choir, next stop is 'The World of Disney' on 21 June 2025. Just follow that yellow brick road.
